In this tutorial, evidence-based practice is discussed as a dynamic means of determining the most appropriate treatment modality for an individual patient. The major components of an evidence-based practice within a mental health context are: understanding and evaluating the evidence, assessing patient characteristics and preferences, and matching clinician resources and skills with the needs of the patient
