Summary |
In 1956, French film-maker Henri-Georges Clouzot filmed Pablo Picasso creating ten unique canvases. Produced exclusively for this astonishing film, several of these works no longer exist. Clouzot shows Picasso commencing with simple line drawings, changing style, method and materials throughout the film, and finishing with full-scale collages and oil paintings. There is clearly a strong rapport between Clouzot and Picasso. Few words are shared, but these fascinating 72 minutes with a master at work, a man whose genius spanned the twentieth century, and whose legacy will live on forever, are totally compelling. Winner of a Special Jury Prize at the **Cannes Film Festival**. *"The gold standard of nonfiction films about the creative process." - Roger Moore, **Orlando Sentinel*** |
