This case study discusses the process of working with original firm-survey data, focusing on the tasks of designing the survey, demonstrating the respondent sample's representativeness, and analyzing the data. This research case focuses particularly on an application to trade-policy stances taken by Japanese manufacturers, and presents several points toward the improvement of the original survey.
