"The current Australian laws, introduced in 1991, replaced earlier legislation. The Advisory Committee is reviewing these laws in light of experience since that date and concerns about their effectiveness in some respects and possible undue constraints in other respects...This Discussion Paper reviews the insider trading laws under Chapter 7 of the Corporations Law (Securities), which were substantially amended in 1991.
