As part of its commitment to increasing teacher access to current and effective drug education resources, the Commonwealth Department of Human Services and Health, through the National Initiatives in Drug Education, has developed Selecting resources. This guide has been developed in response to the evidence that a major factor affecting the quality of school-based drug education is the availability and quality of teaching resources. It provides a list of criteria -- drug-related criteria; teaching and learning criteria; policy and school community criteria; organisation criteria; and audio-visual specific criteria -- to assist teachers to evaluate and select educationally sound drug education teaching resources
