Summary
King Fong was born in Fiji of Chinese parents. He arrived in Sydney in 1946, after the communist uprising in China diverted his parents' planned return to their homeland. Life was very difficult for Asian immigrants but through hard work, a successful business career and tireless work for Chinese-Australian charities he has emerged as one of the most prominent members of the Chinese-Australian community. In 1988 he was awarded the Order of Australia. (An SBS Independent production, in English)
