The future of learning -- The neuroscience of learning and leadership -- Neuroscience and leadership -- The self-transforming mind |
Summary |
"Professor Elmore states that education is the only sector of contemporary democratic society to survive with its nineteenth century institutional structures essentially intact. He comments on why and how this must change, discussing in particular why and how educators should act upon what we know about the neuroscience of learning. The knowledge base in this field is increasing dramatically, he comments, whereas the knowledge base in traditional educational practice is, by comparison, fairly static. The implications of this gap for leadership in the education sector, and for the design of future learning environments - whether inside the education sector, or outside in the broader learning sector - are massive." -- Back cover |
