The management of public security in Brazil is a debate that highlights the relationship between the Police and Society. The vision presented in this book fuels the discussion. With the Bahia Police as its object of study, author Ivone Freire Costa focuses on police actions in the Liberdade neighborhood - the most populated and complex conglomerate of violence and criminality in the city of Salvador. In this way, the lack of trust, fear and insecurity that permeate the relationship between citizens and police are evaluated.
