Summary |
"Vanuatu and the Fijian archipelagos are a haven for the various, often not honourable, pursuits of Westerners. Some, like the Austrian and ex-medico Franz, fly, sail and write about this paradise. Then there is the American Larry, with his skilled Filipino divers who hunt remorselessly, denuding the reefs of colourful fish, using sophisticated and exhaustive "collection" methods. All to serve middle-class America's private aquariums. In Fiji, people like Tim McLeod, exploit for profit the reefs' coral, flogging chunks to America. In Vanuatu, a duty-free tax haven, there are many foreign investors looking for quick money return activities. (From France, in French, and English, English subtitles)" -- website |
