Summary |
Drama from Tours is incomplete. Realization by music historian Frederick Renz incorporates fragments from three other medieval plays to complete the Tours play, and interpolates three other chants. Members of Chanticleer take the roles of various characters in the Easter story. Performance is in solo and unison Gregorian chant (sometimes with a more pronounced rhythmic aspect), organum, or Notre Dame polyphony. It is sung unaccompanied or with improvised accompaniment of harp, positive organ, handbells, or percussion. Opening track is in 3 sections and is purely instrumental, featuring the harp choir |
