Summary |
Inspired by the huge success and influence of the Bollywood movie industry, this four-part series brings a taste of Bollywood to Australia with a brand new talent quest, with a twist.Bollywood Star follows the search for an Australian Bollywood star: an unknown who will go on to win the prize of a lifetime - a part in a Bollywood film.Only 24 finalists remain from the hundreds of hopefuls who auditioned. Now the pressure increases as the 24 finalists are invited back for three gruelling rounds of final auditions. The contestants have to perform a scene from their lives, in front of family and friends, and perform a self-choreographed dance.By the end of the day, the group of finalists will be cut in half, with only twelve contestants moving forward. The remaining twelve contestants are then told they will be dancing in a public flash mob, choreographed and assessed by Bollywood Star judge Dipti Patil. With little time to prepare and learn the routine, and dancing in the Sydney heat, the contestants are pushed to the limit. With each stage designed to test the skills and strengths of the finalists, the judges must ultimately decide on a final six to send to India, and the next stage of the competition.
