| Summary |
La Jetée : Following the nuclear devastation of World War III, a group of survivors trapped underground in Paris carry out experiments in time travel on prisoners in a grim attempt to escape extinction. The hero travels into the past before the bombs fell and encounters a woman he had glimpsed as a child at Orly Airport. He falls in love and chooses to remain with her rather than return to his hopeless future. -- Sans Soleil : Distinctions between fiction and non-fiction film dissolve in this personal journey through the fabric of Tokyo life, and other points around the world. The images that Marker captures are discussed by an imaginary cameraman via letters to an equally imaginary woman |
