French saxophonist Baptiste Herbin, invited to play with the Keith Brown Trio (Keith Brown on piano, Darryl Hall on bass and Kenneth Brown on drums) for the 2012 Jazz En Tête Music Festival, serves up a concert that is decidedly swing, in which virtuosity and finesse are perfectly balanced. The proof is in the long, clearly articulated phrases at lightning-fast tempos in Herbin's mind-blowing improvisations. The partnership between Brown's trio and Herbin works perfectly, as these musicians are used to playing together. You'll find the saxophonist on Brown's album *Sweet and Lovely* (2011, Space Time Records), whilst Hall plays bass on Herbin's album *Dreams and Connections* (2018, Space Time Records).
