In this, the third book in Phaidon's 'biennale' of new artists, one senses a set of shared interests uniting much of the work, perhaps more noticeably than in the previous two. As with the earlier 'Cream' (1998) and 'Fresh cream' (2000), Phaidon asked ten contemporary art curators, all known for their integrity and expertise in staging presentations of new art on an international level, each to select ten important new artists. These 100 artists have either emerged internationally over roughly the past five years, or are still relatively unknown |
