Summary |
"Correggio (c.1489-1534) and Parmigianino (1503-40), both of whom worked extensively in the city of Parma in northern Italy have long been recognized as two of the most outstanding and gifted draughtsmen of the sixteenth century. As a youth, Parmigianino almost certainly worked under Correggio, and his early style was modelled on that of the older painter. This selection of more than 130 drawings from English and American collections illustrates their very different artistic personalities and working methods."--Jacket |
