| Summary |
Dr Turner (Stephen McGann, husband of series creator Heidi Thomas) manages to get Poplar included in the mass X-ray screening program for tuberculosis. Sister Evangelina (Pam Ferris) expertly wrangles the waiting throng outside the mobile screening van. Dr Turner is pleased when Sister Bernadette (Laura Main) supports a nervous girl who is too scared to have an X-ray, by offering an 'if you will, I will' pact.Meanwhile, Jenny's (Jessica Raine) district nursing rounds introduce her to the Masterton family who have been devastated by the disease.
