Series The first World War : visual perspectives and narratives
First World War (Marlborough, England)
Summary Electronic reproduction of manuscripts selected from the collections of the Imperial War Museums. The manuscript collection is chiefly comprised of correspondence and diaries written by soldiers in training and on active service, and by women working with the Army Auxiliary Corps, Voluntary Aid Detachments and the Women's Land Army. The materials offer insights into the personal experiences and views of the different generations living in the war, as well as events such as the Easter Rising and zeppelin raids on Britain
