Summary
This document is a revision of the regional TB-HIV framework published in 2004. The revised framework provides guidance to countries in the Western Pacific Region to step up implementation of TB-HIV collaborative activities. It recommends that all people living with HIV-AIDS should be screened for TB as part of their routine care, and similarly, all patients with TB should be tested for HIV infection in TB facilities, in both instances at the point of care. This is to avoid delays in TB and HIV diagnosis, and consequently preventing unnecessary deaths, and prevent exposure of people with HIV
