Summary Suicide is a tragedy which touches many people. Each year around one million people commit suicide worldwide. These deaths can have lasting and devastating impacts on families and friends affected by suicide, as feelings of grief and loss are clouded by complex questions of life and death which remain unanswered. Deaths caused by suicide are however, preventable. Encouragingly, Australia's suicide rate has decreased by 17% over the past decade (ABS, 2012), however suicide remains the leading cause of death among Australians 15-34 years of age. What are the risks and warning signs for people contemplating this devastating, final act? This book informs young people, parents and educators about suicide awareness, intervention and prevention. Life is worth living, help and support are at hand
