Summary Environmental disturbances in the Glenelg and Wimmera Rivers have been exacerbated by low flows. Consequently, environmental flows have been recommended although there is little empirical evidence of their effects. This thesis has shown that environmental flows are potentially beneficial in rivers subject to disturbances such as salinisation and sedimentation
