Sproxil follows the journey of celebrated social entrepreneur Ashifi Gogo as he seeks to sustain and expand his for-profit social enterprise, Sproxil. Sproxil is a company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts that has developed a mobile technology solution to combat counterfeit pharmaceuticals. Sproxil's technology allows consumers to verify the purchase of pharmaceuticals at the point of sale with their mobile phones. With a unique scratch-off code affixed to packaging and a simple text message, consumers can instantly verify whether or not the medicine they are purchasing is legitimate. The Sproxil DefenderTM technology was initially developed and used in Nigeria, which has one of the largest counterfeit drug markets in the world |
