Summary |
Seafarers play a significant role in the global economy, as 90% of the world's goods are delivered by sea; nevertheless, they form a relatively understudied group in society. Hence, the author became interested in their lives and decided to research them through an ethnographic study. The research was conducted as part of completing the requirements for Master of Arts degree in Anthropology at the University of Haifa, Israel. This article aims to deliver the process of research onboard merchant ships in order to exemplify the reality of isolated research field in practice |
