IN FOCUS: RWANDA VISION CITY. A housing deficit in Rwanda is fueling major development in the country. It's called Vision City, a plan to build 4,500 units to house nearly 25,000 people in Kigali. Adding a school and public transportation is also part of the development plan. CNN's Eleni Giokos meets with Rwanda's minister of infrastructure and one of Vision City's architects to discuss government investment in this project, and whether the housing units will be affordable for the average Rwandan. Today, it owns 1,400 hotels in 115 countries. The company says it's set to nearly double its African portfolio, from 35 hotels currently in operation to an additional 31 under development. CNN's Eleni Giokos talks to Olivier Harnisch, the executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Rezidor Hotel Group, to discuss why being stationed in Africa is profitable, despite currency fluctuations |
