Summary In Russia, there are nearly 500,000 orphans waiting to find adoptive parents. Adoption isn't a popular option in Russia, so these children pin their hopes for a better future on the possibility of international adoption. That was until Christmas Day 2012, when President Putin signed a bill banning American and some European citizens from adopting Russian children. Katrina Morris from US is one of the prospective parents who was barred by this bill from completing the adoption process for Natasha, a five-year old girl with Down syndrome. Natasha is unlikely to ever be adopted, but Katrina goes on struggling for her
