In 2000/01 Environment Australia funded a consultancy project by Atech Group: A national approach to waste tyres, to investigate and analyze the scope and nature of the waste tyre problem in Australia and to assess policy options to address the problem. The findings of the consultancy report and the stakeholder submissions have helped in the development of the options identified in this Policy discussion paper
