| Summary |
Honey, We're Killing The Kids! is an eye opening educational reality series that takes six families and predicts their children's future health. Presented by Child Development Specialist Dr Anne Purcell, the series allows the parents to fast forward to their children's futures using sophisticated computer graphic "aging." For most of the parents it is like a bad horror movie, leaving them feeling shocked at the potential end result. Luckily for them, it's not too late. Each child will undergo a series of medical, nutritional and psychological tests that are analysed by a panel of experts. The results will ultimately help forecast what the future holds for their health. A detailed portrait is then constructed revealing what they may look like as middle-aged men and women. This realistic depiction of the children in their middle age is designed to motivate the parents into making positive changes. With the full support of Dr Purcell and a panel of experts, three weeks of lifestyle changes proceed. The real drama unfolds as the parents attempt to transform the entire family's habits in order to change the face of their children's future. Each episode sees a family arriving at a 'Good Health Solutions' testing facility. A series of tests is run on each member of the family including memory and concentration, heart rate tests, a fitness test and a weight and height measurement. The family will also have filled out a series of questionnaires and a food diary, which they will hand in on testing day. After documenting the families progress, the family meets with Dr Purcell where she discusses with them how they coped with the last week's rules, and what the new rules are for the following week.
