Description 8 boxes ; 1.4 m Series Manuscript collection Manuscript collection Summary The Gordon Scholes collection consists of manuscript material relating to the political career of the Hon. Gordon Glen Denton Scholes, AO (b.1931-). Gordon Scholes was a member of the Australian Labor Party and was elected to Federal parliament as the member for Corio in 1967, retiring in 1993. He was the Minister for Defence in 1983 to 1984, and Minister for Territories from 1984 to 1987. He was the Speaker from 1975 to 1976.
