| Summary |
In this special episode, to begin a new season of Mythbusters, Seth Rogen, star and writer of the superhero movie The Green Hornet, joins the team for two action-packed stunts, inspired by the Hollywood blockbuster.First up, Adam and Jamie, with some assistance from new Myth-tern Seth, tackle Explosive Escape. In the original movie scene, Britt Reid, (AKA The Green Hornet) and his tech savvy sidekick Kato, are in their iconic car the 'Black Beauty' when a bulldozer buries them sideways and then remains parked on top of them.Kato, the brains of the outfit, detonates the eight rockets mounted at the front of the car, which blasts the bulldozer up, up and away, clearing out the earth that covered them and allowing the dynamic duo to escape unharmed. To find out if this is Hollywood hyperbole or genuinely possible, Adam, Jamie and Seth re-create the scene... with just a little TNT.Next, in Elevator Car Cut, Seth gets the team to take on another action sequence where The Green Hornet and Kato again find themselves in a jam. After being shot up by gunmen they crash their car into an elevator. The elevator goes up, and slices the car in half leaving the superheroes to escape by driving off in only the front half of their vehicle.Could an elevator actually bifurcate a car and the front half of the vehicle be driven away successfully? To test this tall tale, the team build their own elevator from three and a half tonne of steel, chop a car in half and take half of it to the racetrack.
