Summary |
"This new collection addresses the theme of the relationship between globalisation and the changing character of work and employment relations across a wide range of sectors. The book is based on papers presented to the ESRC's Future of Work's seminar, Organisational Change and the Future of Employment held at the Centre for Employment Studies Research at Bristol Business School in 2002. Contributions include work from both ESRC and other researchers of work and employment. The chapters cover a range of critical themes in employment relations affecting employees and managers today. The first assesses the impact of globalisation and the political economy of management. The second area features papers on gender at work and employment, trade unions and flexibility while the final area considers the 'problem' with partnership and the future of work. This book will be great interest to all those concerned with the trajectory of labour and employment relations today."--BOOK JACKET |
