Summary |
"In 1955, the movie JEDDA plucked a 16 year old girl from the desert and catapulted her into celluloid history. Daring and controversial, the film revealed an epic tale of passion and divided cultures with Aboriginal actors in the leading roles. Jedda was played by Rosalie Kunoth-Monks. A woman whose own life reads like a feature film script. A reluctant actor, a nun, an activist and a leader. Today, she lives in Utopia - one of the most remote communities on earth - where she manages a shire larger than the United Kingdom. She is a woman remarkably sure of her place in the world." -- website |
