Summary |
The ASCO Coding System (Occupation Level) was developed to enable information to be coded to the occupation (6-digit) level of ASCO with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. Being a highly structured, rule based coding system, it is designed to utilise, in a systematic way, the title of an occupation and information about the main tasks performed. Restricted use can also be made of industry information and employer's name. The coding system, used in accordance with the procedures set out, will enable users to code information on occupations accurately and produce statistics compatible with those produced by the ABS |
