Artists at work follows Nylon's intriguing creative process as he sets out to make four hats for the prestigious Gallery Parade, the event in Melbourne's Spring Fashion Week where art and fashion collide. Richard Nylon is a one-off. Born and bred in country Victoria, Richard now works in the hub of Melbourne's fashion world. He's a new age dandy with an addiction to experimentation, a trained designer who breaks all the rules. His wide range of hats are as at home in Myer and Melbourne's fashionable boutiques as they are on the catwalk and in the National Gallery of Victoria. Inspired by the natural world - plants, insects, flowers and birds - Richard's hats are breathtakingly ethereal and other-worldly.
