Summary |
Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, has started a programme for children that it is hoped will transform their lives. Moldova is mainly known as a breeding ground for "slave labour" and people smuggling into western Europe. We meet the Sadovei family. We follow the two youngest children; Samuil aged 8 and Aureliana, who is ten. Both are part of what is known as the Step by Step programme, which hopes to catch children at a very early stage with the aims to nurture their communication skills and independent thinking. George Soros, one of the wealthiest men in the world, has invested 120 million dollars into the programme. He is interviewed in this film |
