Summary The overall objective of the audit was to assess the effectiveness of the governance framework for the management of the transition from the current red meat industry structures to the proposed new structures with particular reference to the role and operations of DPIE. Matters considered included the effectiveness of: (1) planning for the implementation of the new arrangements; (2) management of the risks associated with the implementation of the new arrangements; (3) management structures used in the transition arrangements; and (4) accountability arrangements for ongoing Commonwealth involvement
