Summary
Nutrients in Marine and Estuarine Environments presents three case studies which highlight the complexity and diversity of issues surrounding the nutrient problem. The case studies are: 1. The Great Barrier Reef Region, by J. Brodie. This study examines a regional scale marine nutrient enrichment problem, and highlights the multiple sources of nutrient inputs and the difficulties dealing with the issue on such a large scale. 2. Tuggerah Lakes, New South Wales, by A. Kennedy. This study examines the impact of catchment development on the nutrient regime of an estuarine lake system. 3. Moffat Heads, Queensland, by P. Cosser. This study details the impact of a single, nutrient-rich effluent outfall on the algal community of an intertidal rock platform
