Summary |
Who was the real Blackbeard and what secrets will his shipwreck reveal? With access to a seabed exploration off the US coast, the mystery of Blackbeard's notorious pirate ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, will finally be laid to rest with Lost Worlds: Blackbeard's Lost Pirate Ship.Blackbeard was the most feared and famous pirate that ever sailed. But what became of his prized flagship The Queen Anne's Revenge? This film will follow a team of underwater archaeologists in Autumn 2008 as they excavate a wreck off the North Carolina coast, which they believe is Blackbeard's ship. Eyewitness accounts of the vessel stranding, and recent discoveries from the site, including everything from cannon to 18th century syringes for treating syphilis, suggest that it was his vessel. Now the team expects to discover how, and why, it sank. Could Blackbeard even have done it deliberately to rid himself of an increasingly unwieldy band of pirate followers?
