Aqua is a building in Chicago, overlooking the inland sea of Lake Michigan. Aqua is unusual in other ways, too. While most skyscrapers house offices, Aqua is entirely residential. Aqua was the first skyscraper in the United States to be designed by a woman, Jeanne Gang. And most unusual of all, it has projecting curved concrete balconies that make the building look like it is covered in rolling hills or waves, hence the name Aqua |
