Summary |
Most of us in the United States are descended from immigrants. This is the story of an immigration from Spain that took place in the early 1900s. The experiences that they had and the obstacles they encountered reflect in many aspects those of every immigrant group. Our star is one of the actual immigrants named Francisco Pérez - 98 years old when we filmed him and full of stories. His narrative is supplemented by on-location footage (in southern Spain, in Hawaii and in rural California) along with short interviews with descendants of the original immigrants. A documentary conceived, shot and edited by independent filmmaker Eve A. Ma, with Jaime Cader as host |
