Summary "What would have happened if...?" Could a different ending to a particular day have fundamentally altered the course of world history? Days That Changed The World explores three days in history that have had a crucial impact on the world. The final part of the series looks at the infamous date, July 14, 1789: The French Revolution began in Paris with the storming of the Bastille. The National Assembly proclaimed itself the ruling body of the country and then set about formulating a constitution based on the rule of the people and the inviolability of human rights. But would human rights have come into being if the counter-revolution had succeeded? And would constitutional monarchy and democracy have gained a footing in Europe at all? (From Germany, in German and French, with English subtitles)
