Summary Cheese Master Will Studd visits three continents in search of the world's most spectacular cheeses and producers. In this episode he visits the famous 'garden of France' the south-west region of France's Loire Valley, where two special breeds of goats are behind a cheese industry made world famous. If it wasn't for the invading Saracens being defeated in a battle at Poitou 1400 years ago, and forced out, leaving their goats behind and a cheese making legacy, the area's sumptuous goat cheese industry might never have developed.Thankfully, history told a different story and Studd visits the region to attend the annual goat cheese fair in the village of Sainte Maure de Touraine and talk with cheese judges to find out how to select the best.He visits France's largest goat cheese producer Eurial, to find out how the best-loved French chevre, Sainte Maure, is made. He discovers it is a gentle process unlike cow's milk cheese.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Executive Producer: Will Studd; Directors: Michael Robinson and Brent Rees for Landmark television, Sqid Ink Media
