Summary |
Addresses the latest clinical guidelines for the management of urogenital pain and covers the mechanisms and clinical treatment of pain syndromes of the urogenital area in both the male and female patient. There is a strong introduction covering the science and theory behind the pain syndromes, as well as the importance of multidisciplinary assessment and care. The pain syndromes are discussed using the site of perceived pain approach, with an emphasis on multi-system involvement. Old terms such as vulvadynia, orchialgia, and prostadynia are avoided where possible and the most up-to-date data on classification is used where possible. Also included are chapters considering the pain syndromes, and other chapters provide an in-depth overview of treatment options in their own right, such as the role of psychological treatment options, neuropathic analgesics, and neuromodulation |
