Iven Giffard Mackay (1882-1966) served with the 4th Battalion 1st A.I.F., at Gallipoli and on the Western Front, during the First World War. In the Second World War, he commanded the 6th Australian Division in North Africa and Greece, 1941. In 1943 he served as commander of Australian troops in New Guinea.
