Summary A bunch of kids from the East end of London, led by their father, John Fuller, arrives in New Zealand in the 1890s, and, starting with magic lantern shows and travelling waxworks, graduated to vaudeville, buying up theatres as their success increased. Throughout Australasia theatre people referred to New Zealand as 'Fullers Earth'. They invaded Australia, buying more theatres and discovering performers such as Roy Rene and George Wallace, and venturing into ballet and opera. They built or bought cinemas and were radio pioneers; Ben Fuller co-founded the Australian Broadcasting Company until 1932 when it became the national broadcaster. Ben Fuller was the first theatre man in Australia to receive a knighthood. Fullers Theatres were rivalled only by J C Williamson in the first half of the 20th century, controlled by a family of superb organisers who themselves were also great stage performers. If you can be excited by adventures, the ups and downs of the world's most precarious industry, then yes 'Actors blood' is a thriller
