Series The Island with Bear Grylls: Men's Island ; Series 2, Episode 4
Summary In the ultimate survival experiment, Bear Grylls abandons 14 British men on a remote desert island in the Pacific with just the clothes they stand up in and a few basic tools. For six weeks, the men will attempt to survive entirely on their own wits. It's been four days since the men trapped and killed a crocodile, and they haven't been able to repeat their success. Most of the meagre meals they are eating are coming from cleaning facilities manager, Vic, who is the only member of the group to have mastered his improvised fishing rod. With the task of finding food crucial, Will comes up with an ambitious plan to catch the bigger fish that inhabit the deeper waters surrounding the island. With help from the others, he constructs a makeshift raft from all the plastic bottles washed up on the beach. But will it sink or sail?Sick of barely edible, low calorie limpet soup, Vic takes out the new raft in pursuit of a proper fish supper. But caught in a fierce undercurrent, and heading for razor sharp rocks, Vic faces a life and death struggle.
