This case study details one project, from research question to publication, alerting students to specific methodological and substantive problems that occur when conducting original research. It sheds light on the processes and hurdles of publication using a quantitative analysis of globalized travel as a case study. The process of collecting original data and choosing an appropriate methodology is described, with a particular focus on how a relational, country-pair examination of data can provide insights into the complex and multi-varied structure of globalization
