Summary Ghana may not be at the top of the global tourism charts as yet, but one area has plans for the near future to secure niche markets via eco- and cultural tourism based around a singular sporting event. Their festival, called 'Aboakyer' in the local Fante language, is a tribute to the successful migration of the Effutu people led by two brothers from the Northeastern African town of Timbuktu to the Winneba area in the central coast region of Ghana (previously known as the Gold Coast) about 300 years ago. This case describes the festival and asks students to brainstorm how to grow it as a tourist attraction
