Summary The methodological research project case presented in this article is based on a study about the impact of the internationalization of work in the division of labor empirically focused on information technology work (funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). The main goal of the project was to analyze how the internationalization of work affected the classifications of tasks and skill requirements and the codification of inequalities (particularly gender inequalities) between employees working in different areas of emerging transnational work-spaces. The methodological approach combines quantitative and qualitative data analysis distilled from case studies in six multinational enterprises successively collected and validated following the principle of triangulation
