Summary |
Student actors and actresses in the Theatre School for the Deaf in Moscow talk about some of the painful experiences they had as children, in a Russia where they were ostracized--because they are deaf--and not understood. Studying theatre arts has given many of these hearing-impaired youth a new sense of themselves, and the confidence to express complex feelings and ideas. As a result, their worldview has expanded, along with opportunities for a successful future. Professors and parents speak from their perspectives as well |
