Summary Amir is a newly appointed executive director at a non-profit organization in crisis. Public Service Inc., a faith-based non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to inspiring and training young Americans for public service careers, is struggling to fundraise and maintain a positive image. The small Board of Directors has been unable to deal with the technical and adaptive challenges facing the organization. Amir believes he can use adaptive leadership skills to guide the NGO out of its crisis. The Board of Directors disagrees with his proposals for change within the organization, but his staff and a potential donor agree that the NGO needs to change. Can Amir use adaptive leadership to come up with solutions to the complex problems of mission integrity, identity, and organizational change facing Public Service Inc.? How can this executive director manage his relationship with a Board and lead the struggling non-profit to success?
