This paper examines generational and gender differences in the start-up goals of a sample of small business proprietors from Western Australia and the later satisfaction derived from the achievement of these goals. Using t-tests for gender and one-way ANOVAs for generation, the results reveal significant differences in initial goals of male and female small business owners, as well as differences in the goals of owners from the different generations surveyed.
